Kipahulu Campground offers a stunning location with breathtaking views, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. The campground features spacious sites, well-maintained bathrooms, and close proximity to the beautiful Pipiwai Trail. We stayed 2 nights with a big crew of people. All in all a good experience except the grass had not been mowed in awhile so it was really long in some spots and not ideal for setting up a tent in. One of the nights some campers not in our crew were hooting and hollering until 4:30am and one of our campsites was taken by some random people.

The road to get in after paying for the pass is pretty bumpy and could use some grading. Could be because it’s winter and the rainy season. Pit toilets, no water/showers. Huge campsites. Quiet and beautiful view from the walk in tent sites. Wish there was somewhere to swim nearby.

Camping there was an overall very enjoyable experience.
Potable water is available by the visitors center.
The hike to Waimoku Falls is worthwhile and the walk to the Seven Pools, but you'll still want to reserve day hiking at Wai"anapanapa State Park.

Our favorite campground on Maui! So serene and quiet. Beautiful nature all around and we saw so many whales jump right out front! No van camping directly at the ocean front spots.
Drinking water at the visitor center just a few walking minutes away and there's fresh fruit and coffee a bit down the road, too.
Toilets were cleaned every day and the employees were super lovely!
Pipiwai trail is amazing!

The place is a stunning gem! We will definitely be back and stay for more than one night.
Make sure you pay attention to which sites are walk-up/tent-camping only before booking.

Great campground if you are driving road to hana and dont want to worry about coming back late. It is a primitive campground with basic bathrooms. Great space between camping spots, nice views. Near the pipiwai trail (must do!)
