What Guests Are Saying

Black Rock Campground is a beautiful and remote spot along the North Fork of the Boise River, offering a peaceful atmosphere with well-spaced sites and easy access to trails and swimming areas. While some amenities like the water pump and fire pits need attention, and issues with noise from generators and aggressive bees were noted, many campers enjoyed their experiences and appreciated the natural setting. Overall, it's recommended for those who come prepared and are seeking a rustic camping experience.

I was originally going to give a 4 star rating due to the swarm of yellow jackets during that afternoon hours, however, I realize that isn't the campground's fault. The yellow jackets were just doing what they do. We set a partial can of cider on top of the car and that seemed to help some. We will take traps with us next year. Overall....Black Rock is one of my go-to spots!!

Beautiful spot! The spots are a great size and can fit pretty large groups and/or rv’s. It’s right on the river and there are great trails for hiking and swimming holes for a brisk dip. There are tons of trees so most of the spots have plenty of shade to keep you cooler on really warm days. The bathroom is convenient, but I recommend bringing some decent toilet paper and a fly swatter. Make sure you bring plenty of provisions like firewood and ice for coolers because if you have to drive into town, that round trip takes a decent chunk out of your day. But I definitely recommend and will stay again!

Hello there to whom ever is reading this o hope your 2019 was great and wishing you a better 2020. The site we attended was Black Rock it was Beautiful! And as well it was my family and I first time camping. The bathroom was near by and kept clean the river was near as well and trails. Perfect for beginners. Before we went to Black Rock we look and look and read on line about sites because with 3 little kids. We had to make sure we chose the right site. Black Rock was the best choice we made everything was near by not to far. We live in Caldwell the drive was perfect as well. Thankfully weather was great. The kids had a blast and learn new things. We forsure share and toll all of our friends and family about the place. Even the other people around as where very nice as well. Very family friendly oriented and kids felt safe. We had a summer to never forget and go back as well. Thank you staff as well that goes out there and checks on bathroom and campgrounds for all your work.
