What Guests Are Saying

Black Rock Campground is a beautiful and remote spot along the North Fork of the Boise River, offering a peaceful atmosphere with well-spaced sites and easy access to trails and swimming areas. While some amenities like the water pump and fire pits need attention, and issues with noise from generators and aggressive bees were noted, many campers enjoyed their experiences and appreciated the natural setting. Overall, it's recommended for those who come prepared and are seeking a rustic camping experience.

A little tricky to find. More signs along the dirt road would have been helpful because we lost service on google maps! Once you get there is is a stunning location and well worth the drive in through winding dirt road. Really amazing spot, will be back now that we know where it is!!

Great spot. I saw others reviews talking about the long gravel drive. That portion took us about 45 minutes from Idaho city. It didn’t bother us much, its well maintained. The site was great, very spacious and not even busy for a July weekend. Its right on the river with easy access for throwing rocks with the kids. We will be back!

We loved this spot! 11 was great and a great sandy beach by 1. Gave it 4 stars because we saw two rattle snakes one by site 7 and one in site 1. We will go back. 😀

Beautiful campground! All sites seem great; even if yours doesn't have direct access to the river, there is an easy way down that doesn't disturb other sites. The only downside to this campground is that there is no camp host, and therefore no one to enforce the rules. During our visit, there were several dogs running around off leash investigating all the campsites and a huge, loud party happening until 3AM at one of the campsites.

Our camp site didn’t have a ton of shade but others did. It was beautiful and right by the river. It was good fishing.
