Sweet campground. There are only a few sites large enough for motorhomes and trailers and some are too narrow to open a slide out. We just barely fit our 24 motor home into site 3 and couldn't put out our awning and never did get the beast leveled. The awesome view and access to the lake was worth it, though. The sites around the Martin Lake Loops are much better for RVs, but you aren't right on the lake.

It is difficult to get a camping spot at times because the campground fills up so fast. Nice campground, nice lake, but gets pretty crowded.

Love the campground, but the hosting is definitely lacking. There were several squatters along the lake (#13/14 thereabouts) who openly admitted they were there for 2 weeks and hadn't paid or registered. They never saw the host and neither did I. I rarely left my campsite. I wanted to swap my site for one of those spaces (since I saw they weren't paid for) and asked the host about it and he said "they shouldn't be doing that, it's a $75 fine." However, it appears that nothing was done about it as they were still there. Another friend of mine camped there labor day and encountered the same thing. They managed to get the site by talking to the squatters.

We started camping at Bull Trout several years ago. In those days you could simply drive up and choose a spot. Now we have to make reservations far in advance. The campground is very beautiful. The camp hosts do a good job. What I don't like, especially on the week-end, are the crowds and the noise. The people are nice people, I'm sure. A big reason I love to get out in the mountains is the quiet and peacefulness of the surroundings. There is nothing that be done about the crowds. I don't have to like it. Unfortunately, Bull Trout CG is only 2 hours from Boise. Too bad it isn't a 6 hour drive from Boise. That would get rid of the Boise crowds.
I'm of an age that I was fortunate to grow up and never were crowds a problem. It's changed and not for the better.
So there it is, Thank You,
Boyd H.
