A great camping site for the Dunes. Quiet and easy to park your rig. Nice and clean sites and has water and dump available if needed. Easy access to the dunes, very close. The site numbers are located on the patios which are every site.

Since the change in management this year the campground is DIRTY! Sites are riddles with garbage and dog droppings. Bathrooms are pretty filthy too. There is ONE trash for the whole campground, not sure why they took away the larger ones that were dispersed throughout the loop but it leads to trash everywhere. With no on-site management, Dune riders speed through the campground without a thought and the quiet hours aren't enforced. Far cry from the previous 19 years we have been going there.

We got to our reserved camp spot about 3pm and the people in the next spot had parked their trailer and truck halfway into our spot. They had way more vehicles and people than aloud for a spot so they stretched into ours. They were out riding for hours, which left us unable to park or unload until they got back. It was scorching hot so that didn’t make anything easier. The trees are all to the south so no shade at these spots. I called BLM and they transferred me to a voicemail. Never heard back. All phone numbers available were not responsive. I tried the guy at the pit store and he was atleast sympathetic but couldn’t do anything. So just know if this happens, you are on your own. Camp host said, if they won’t move, call the sheriff. Not a fun way to start trip. BLM no help. The dunes and lakes are close and beautiful. The lake we swam in had no leaches, some smaller ponds do. You can see them pretty easily.
