What Guests Are Saying

Buck Park Cabin is praised for its beautiful, isolated location, making it an ideal spot for a remote getaway. However, access can be challenging, especially for cars, and the cabin itself is small and basic. Overall, guests appreciated the scenic trails and the presence of amenities like a toilet, with some expressing a desire to return.

This one is hard to review. Positives are that it is very isolated and in a beautiful area. Negatives are that it is definitely hard to reach. I went in on a big ADV motorcycle and it was a challenge. No cars are going to make it without some damage. The cabin itself is very small and bare bones. There are lots of cheaper cabins that are much better so I won't be back to this one.

We enjoyed the stay at the cabin.I have been by it several times and decided to rent it with my wife. There was 9 teens camped there with as a work crew cleaning up old fence along the main trails. They didn't bother us at all.The trail getting to it was good as could be expected for the location. The national forest did good on fixing the trail. We would recommend this cabin for a remote getaway. The trail to the lake is a little rougher but when I go to the lake I use my 4 wheeler.Having the toilet there was a plus for my wife.I will be renting it again in the future. There is trails around with scenic views of the snake canyon.

Awesome cabin, FS had been up to clean for the last time that season a few days before. Tried to leave it super clean. Only stayed a couple nights as I tagged out on my elk hunt on day 1. Had a mouse but the hooks in ceiling worked for storing food out of his reach.

Bad:
The cabin sits in the middle of a 100,000 acre 2020 fire. "Scorched Earth" as defined by a wildlife biologist friend.
The only animals we saw were grasshoppers in the meadows and cows.
The forest service could not even place an old picnic table outside of the cabin.
The clearance for the upper bunk to the ceiling was only 12". It could fit gear, but no one for sleeping.
Which explains why there was no ladder.
The cabin is listed under one ranger district, however it is managed under another one. Difficult to gather info.
Good:
The road to the cabin is not as bad as posted. Drive slow and we were fine. No boulders to skirt.
The single bed was wide enough for a married couple.
The outhouse was clean.
