Buck Park Cabin is praised for its beautiful, isolated location, making it an ideal spot for a remote getaway. Cuddy Mountain used to be a first rate place to hunt grouse. The fire that recently burned down Cuddy Mountain almost completely burned down the entire forest. I hunted there last year and this year. There is no sign that the forest has started to rejuvenate it's self. The grouse hunting is gone.

I have stayed here several times and the grouse hunting is phenomenal. Having a structure and wood stove is so terrific when the nights start getting cold. I agree with feedback that the foldout couch/bed is rickety. The wood stove is super efficient and will keep you warm. Gracious people stay here as evidenced by the wealth of cookware and firewood left behind. There are surplus electric lanterns and they take D batteries; I have no idea if they actually work. I love this cabin and will stay there every year I can get someone to hunt with me. It is sad to see how much is burned, but also reassuring to see how much of it is still okay and the views are still incredible.

Two of us came in Oct 1st. Another on the 2nd. The roads are much better than they where in 2019. Still would recommend a pickup or tall SUV. Found the cabin in good shape except for the stone around the stove. Looks like someone was chopping firewood inside the cabin.
We explored the Cuddy Mt and Summer's Grave areas. Excellent views at both locations. Dang, that was a hot fire in 2020. Some of the spots are still black with no vegetation.
Left on the 3rd. Cleaned cabin and swept up with provided broom and dust pan. Had an ax and chainsaw, so cut firewood for about an hour and restocked the cabin.

The cabin needs a new sofa bed and a mop.

The sofa bed needs to be fixed or replaced. The mop needs to be replaced so the floor can be washed
