Lovely park like setting with mature trees and grass. Long asphalt driveways that can handle any size RV. Each site is equipped with a cement picnic table, fire pit and lantern hook. We enjoyed seeing the Indigo buntings and little toads around the park.

We have stayed at several other ACoE campgrounds and were disappointed with South Marcum. The website directions took us on a much longer route than our GPS when getting off the interstate. Then, the road names didn't all match the directions, so we missed our turn. Our campsite asphalt was so unlevel, we almost could not park there even with using 3 blocks on one end. Then, there wasn't even a nearby beach. The bathrooms were nice overall, thankfully.

This is a wonderful campground! There are many things to do- biking, using the lake for water sports or kayaking, playgrounds to play on. We enjoyed riding on the bike trail and checking out all of the wildlife around us. We only stayed for a weekend, but will definitely be back. The camping spots are large with nice concrete picnic tables, there is a lantern hook at each spot as well. You are not too close to your neighbors and it's very wooded and shady.

We stayed in the whispering pines section. The entire campground was gorgeous. Had it not been for our dog getting skunked the Friday night we got there we would have been able to enjoy it more! We still stuck it out until Sunday. We plan on making another trip. The concrete bike trails were fabulous!
