South Marcum Campground is a wonderful place for families. Our kids love the basketball courts, bike trails, and playground. The views are great and the bathrooms are almost always in great shape.

Very nice, clean, safe area to camp. The only draw back, if you can call it one, is that you have to drive to town and get ice every day. It'd be nice if ice were available on the ground. Otherwise excellent friendly staff, well maintained grounds and shower/ bathrooms. Tons of wildlife and trails for hiking and biking

What a great place to stay. Used this as a halfway rest stop on my road trip on my way out of town. Family and I loved Rend Lake so much we camped and used it as a rest stop on the way back home. Very peaceful, quiet, pretty place to tent camp. We also used the beach and my kids loved it. No plans to take the kids to the ocean this year to play on a real beach so this was a nice experience for them this year. Rend lake visitor center was fantastic and I am so happy we stopped to check it out. My kids are almost 3 and almost 6 and they loved it. Wife and I also enjoyed the history of the lake. Reserving a site on recreation.gov was super easy too! Will most definitely make this a spot to remember for future road trips.

Our favorite campground in the region. Large sites, clean, courteous staff and close to restaurants and things to do outside the campground.
