Boulder Campground offers a fantastic camping experience with clean, well-maintained facilities and friendly, helpful hosts who enhance the stay. Campers appreciate the beautiful views, spacious sites, and well-kept shower houses. We camp at Boulder 10-15 times a year. This trip was in the full hookup loop which is usually a really quiet and reserved crowd. NOT THIS TRIP!!
While setting up our neighbors dog was running on our property. You’re supposed to have any dog on a leash while on Corps ground. I told them that we had a dog (who was restrained properly) and I didn’t appreciate that theirs wasn’t. Later in the trip my buddy’s son was chasing a frog behind our camper and that dog still not restrained felt threatened enough to coming charging into our site and almost bit the boy. Rangers were called. They need to enforce the dogs being restrained as much as they do parking on the grass. This is our 3rd incident with an unrestrained dog. Our dog was bit by a Great Dane while walking on the road that was unrestrained in a campsite.
On to the second problem. Our other neighbors in this loop were tent campers. There isn’t a good space in the loop to tent camp so they put 4 tents and countless yard games directly in front of our camper. We had no grass for our dog or anything other activity. The had 4 cars, a boat and 8 adults plus children. I’m thinking that exceeds the maximum. Usually you’re looking at the back of a camper there no big deal but I felt our privacy and there’s was gone. Especially that we couldn’t use all of the site we payed for. I personally think there should be no tent camping allowed in the full hookup loop. That should be for campers and RV’s only. Rough trip and the rules need to be enforced by the Corps of engineers.

It is a very clean campground. The shower house is older but clean. They have the best cleaning people. The sites are spaced apart. We camp here alot. The camp hosts are great.

Boulder is one of the best campgrounds in our area. CLEAN and WELL MAINTAINED. We had a group there on Sat. they were all impressed with the care of the facility. We just wished they had water at the sites.
