What Guests Are Saying
Blanding Landing is a beautiful and well-maintained campground with clean facilities and a friendly host, Ann, who is helpful and welcoming. The area offers great recreational opportunities, including access to the river and hiking trails, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. However, frequent and loud train traffic, especially at night, may disrupt sleep for some campers, so earplugs are recommended.

As stated by other reviewers, the train traffic all through the night made sleep impossible in our tent.

It wasn't crazy horrible but the trains were way loud during the night. It really seemed like they were laying on the horn excessively. Like almost on purpose, when coming past the camps...Other that it was ok.

I was orginally going to site 11, all the sites on that side had a drop off. Our class c would have bottomed out if we tried to pull into that site. I was able to book us into site 21, which worked out great.

We LOVED Blanding Landing. We were there in October and the flies were horrendous, but I guess it was their season. We were one of 4 RV's there during the week, so it was very quiet.
Ann, the campground host was great. She'd come and check on us daily and was very helpful. We invited her to join us around the campfire one night and we had a wonderful visit.
The restrooms/showers were very clean. There are water spigots spread around the campground, so you can fill your tanks in different spots around the campground, which was nice. Our 5th is about 36', and some of the turns were a bit tight, so we'd have to go a different direction. Nothing horrible. We were at campsite 14 and it was pretty hard getting into because the "driveway" had a fairly noticeable angle and also low hanging branches. That campsite was not at all level, so it took awhile and we have auto leveling. If your RV is large maybe, choose a different sight.
Other reviews mention the train, which does come through frequently all day and night long. We weren't bothered by it, but it might be an issue for some.
The topography is gorgeous, being it's in the driftless area. We took some hikes around the area. You are definitely in the boonies. To get there, we drove through Galena and then 13 miles down a pretty desolate road. There are some houses along the way, but it's pretty rural. The drive is beautiful with rolling hills. Trailer brakes were used. lol
We drove to Savanna one day. Spent some time at Poopy's, which is always fun. On the way home we stopped at the Iron Horse which has some amazing motorcycle memorabilia. Spent one day in Galena, which is always fun.

Beautiful area with lots of things to do and see. Campground is very well maintained and the host, Ann, was very helpful and friendly. The trains and signs added to our entertainment, but it might not be for everyone.

Camp sites are nice, some a little close together but nothing major. There are trains that run through the recreation area and blow their horn, so if you dont want it to be too loud just make sure to look at the site map and choose one further from the tracks as it wasn't too bad this time around. (Been many times)
Bathrooms are very all very clean!

*TRAIN NOISE WARNING*
Overall campground was great, bathrooms were super clean, easy to access, and anne who was the camp host was extremely kind. We got to the campground around 9pm and she greeted us and directed us on how to get to our site. However, we read the reviews and still were not prepared for how LOUD the trains were. I am a deep sleeper and did not think it would be a problem. It genuinely sounds like you are about to be ran over. We bought Earplugs after waking up every 2 hours the first night and would say its a must if you plan to tent camp as we did. Overall campground is great but the trains really damaged our experience unfortunately. Would recommend for cleanliness but warn visitors to bring Earplugs.
