What Guests Are Saying
Coon Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with clean facilities, well-maintained campgrounds, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the picturesque views of Lake Shelbyville and the quiet atmosphere, making it a favorite for families and nature lovers. However, some concerns were raised about the lack of fish cleaning stations, narrow parking spaces, and the need for improved arrival hours for campers without reservations.

Nice campground. Grandchildren enjoyed the playground, fishing and the beach. The campsite was nice and could get what we needed at the small store just outside the campground. We had a great time at Coon Creek campground.

The sites are nice being paved. They are narrow sites. We have 3 slides so you have to try to stay to one side and be able to get your slides out. So picnic table had to be pushed to back of the site. Not much of a fire pit. Site was right across from the restrooms.

Everything was good except the fish cleaning station is GONE! It's VERY inconvenient to have to tailgate clean fish or drive all the way to the Lone Point station on poor roads.

We’d come back every weekend if we could! We loved this spot and the campground as a whole. Everyone is spread out so no one is on top of one another. We loved having a corner lot and having so much space for our dog to run/play.
There was a camp store right when you pulled into the campground, that was super convenient for the items you forgot to bring. Shelbyville is only 15-20 miles away so if you need a Walmart it’s there. We can’t wait to come back! :)

Nice bathing area, kind and courteous staff, a variety of campsites (from isolated to full hookups), and good maintenance makes Coon Creek perfect for anyone in the area. We drove 3hrs and found that almost everyone camping here was from nearby. Still, it’s worth it if you stay at least a few days.

we were in a section that had recently been renovated and had all new black top in the camp sites. It rained cats and dogs one day and it was great to have no mud or puddles to deal with.
