What Guests Are Saying
Thomson Causeway is praised for its beautiful riverside camping, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious concrete pads, proximity to nature, and stunning sunsets over the Mississippi River. While some concerns were raised about noise from barking dogs and a less-than-friendly host, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning to return.

The campground is amazing and so much wildlife around. Campers were friendly and respectful. For site 44, there is street lamp that is obnoxious. It probably impacts sites around 44 as well. When I was there it would blink on and off. When on it is too bright.

Nice, average campground. The staff and people were nice and I enjoyed making conversation with a few people next to me.
One bathroom was way better than the other one.
I tent camped, and was only accompanied by one other fellow tent camper one of the nights. The other night I was the lone tent camper, in a sea of camper campers.
It’s actually a very nice camper campground.
The insects were plentiful but the far majority of them were harmless and just a mere nuisance.
There were many song birds and sounds of crickets at night.
Stargazing by the campfire was enjoyable and the night time temps were cool for a June night.
I’d be careful of getting any fire wood from the woods because it was covered in what I believe to have been poison ivy (about ankle to just under knee high)
It was nice but now that I’ve seen it I think I will try another place next time

Thomson Causeway is one of our favorite campgrounds. We were on site #3 which is super long site. We always go to the dog park in Clinton that was a former zoo it's amazing! It's always quiet here at night. Camp host has been here several years and is always friendly. Plenty of walking and riding trails connected to campground.

We love camping at Thomson Causeway. It's a clean, quiet, serene campground. The spaces are varied in size, privacy, and access to the water. Tons for kids to do from biking, hiking, to water activities. Savannah & Clinton are both relatively close by. Tons of nature!
