What Guests Are Saying
Thomson Causeway is praised for its beautiful riverside camping, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious concrete pads, proximity to nature, and stunning sunsets over the Mississippi River. While some concerns were raised about noise from barking dogs and a less-than-friendly host, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning to return.

Beware of mayfly hatch last week of June to 1st week of July. Unimaginable for 2 nites next to main river. Slough sites better. Sites were great with river views. Great clean park. I’ll be back just at different time of season

Great place! Very clean! Rangers very helpful. Would suggest taking the Twighlight Boat Ride and Antique Archaology from the Pickers Show in Le Claire, IA!

We love camping at Thomson Causeway until this time. We did not know that the Mayflies were out. We had a campsite on the water and were attacked by the bugs. I would definitely check in the month of June/July for bug conditions. Otherwise it is one of our favorite places to camp.

We loved our site - very spacious! Was nice to see the Park Rangers walk through a few times. We were across from a nice grassy area (site 21), and my only complaint is that apparently people don't feel the need to pick up their dog poo there. ARG. I know there are bags and disposal stations in other parts of the campground - this may be a perfect place to put one in hopes it may encourage people to use it. Love it here!

This is a good spot. Loved it. Better than the last spot. The water hookups are good. Cant wait for all spots to be concrete patio.

Would have been 5 stars but the "buddy sites" in the new area were not clearly defined when I originally booked site 89.
