What Guests Are Saying
Thomson Causeway is praised for its beautiful riverside camping, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious concrete pads, proximity to nature, and stunning sunsets over the Mississippi River. While some concerns were raised about noise from barking dogs and a less-than-friendly host, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning to return.

Fantastic! Lovely facilities in a lovely setting. Wildlife was just great, especially the large birds.

I belong to several "camping clubs" and each on always chooses Thompson to have their rally. That should mean something. The only bad experience has been the May Flys and the years of the floods.
I have been coming here since the beginning if that says something. My parents and 2 uncles had cabins on Potters Marsh. That goes back to the "50's".

Most everything fine except for allowing too many vehicles per campsite. Should enforce the rules.

The park is so clean and well managed, the sites are well marked and the lady at the fee booth is so friendly and helpful. The park is half way between Savana and Fulton Illinos with Clinton, Iowa just across the river from Fulton. The park has 30 Amp and 50 Amp electric plus water at each site, and there is a blue tote dump near the shower house.
There is plenty to do in both Savana and Clinton as well as shopping. Thomson is small and has one restaurant but it is a cut above others. You will enjoy your stay and look forward to returning.
