What Guests Are Saying
Thomson Causeway is praised for its beautiful riverside camping, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious concrete pads, proximity to nature, and stunning sunsets over the Mississippi River. While some concerns were raised about noise from barking dogs and a less-than-friendly host, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning to return.

Booked on-line, check-in was seamless.
I love having water at each site! Great improvement.
Shower house and campground was very clean.
I camp here 4~6 times a year to ride the Northern half of the Great River Trail.
Dusty's is a great place to eat, and there is a bar across the street. Also, on the same block is Arnold's Bike Shop.

The campground is very clean, well maintained and right on the river. Newly installed water faucets at each site was a plus! We did not use the shower building. The trails are well marked and maintained. This campground is a nice place to relax and was quiet at night. The sunsets over the river were beautiful! We will plan for a return trip.

The sunsets by the backwater of the Mississippi River is totally outstanding. We enjoy paddling on the river although getting to the channel through the excessive lily pads is not our favorite. We also enjoy connecting to the paved bicycle path and head towards Fulton.
The campgrounds are spacious sites and now have been upgraded to include water at each site.

We loved our time at Thomson Causeway. We had a large pull through site that faced the beautiful river. We enjoyed watching the egrets, pelicans, and herons! The sunsets were spectacular! The bike trail from the campground was awesome and we took several E bike rides! Nice quiet campground. The only negative was it was not clear that the sites had water hook ups, so we stopped to fill up with water. The website needs to be updated with water hook ups.
