What Guests Are Saying
Thomson Causeway is praised for its beautiful riverside camping, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious concrete pads, proximity to nature, and stunning sunsets over the Mississippi River. While some concerns were raised about noise from barking dogs and a less-than-friendly host, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning to return.

We had another great time at Thomson Causeway. The weather was good and the bugs weren't too bad. A bike ride to Fulton is a nice thing to do if you are willing to ride 18 miles or so. It is on a bike path for the most part so you don't have to deal with traffic, although the pavement gets a little rough in stretches. The worst thing about our time there was the showerhead in the shower stall I used. The water came out with very high pressure so it felt like you were getting sand blasted. It hurt if you stayed in one spot too long. Not so good for rinsing off your face.

This was our first visit to this beautiful campground. We had site 87 in the River Birch campground loop. The view and space were all I had hoped for and more! We took time to ride through all 4 campground loops and the day use area. The south Potter loop looked a little too wooded for our preference but there were a LOT of nice sites in all the loops. There were five shared water spigots in the River Birch loop, two of them actually on the outside of the loop, across the road from campsites. These two were useful for anyone entering the loop to fill their tank. It would have been nice to have a small dump site for "turd toters" at the shower house nearest this loop like the one in the north Potter loop. Having a local site would save towing waste all the way to the main dump station which is "outside" the campground areas. Each loop had a a playground area, as did the day use area. Each playground had different equipment.

This campground is so clean and tidy, and the workers so helpful. The prices are affordable, as everything else in this world is increasing in price so much, that living is almost unaffordable. What a great get away from the stresses of every day life.
