What Guests Are Saying
Thomson Causeway is praised for its beautiful riverside camping, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious concrete pads, proximity to nature, and stunning sunsets over the Mississippi River. While some concerns were raised about noise from barking dogs and a less-than-friendly host, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning to return.

Our stay at Thomson Causeway is always excellent! We love the blacktopped roads, plentiful shower houses, available firewood, and friendly campers. The grounds are always well attended and clean. Highly recommend this gem of a campground.

We always enjoy our time at Thomson Causeway. The concrete pads are level. large clean dump station, and it is a beautiful area.
Recommendations: remove the huge bump strips from the roads, do not mow around the campers (go too fast & could injure campers and damage campers & vehicles), and leave fire wood at camp site that previous campers have left for the next camper (caretaker went around campground, searched empty sites & loaded wood onto her site vehicle).

did not have 30amp power and it was 90 degrees so I could not run the air. told them about it at 12:30 and again when I checked in at 5:30. still did not have power at noon the next day and was 90 degrees again so we packed up and went home we were. going to be there for 4 days

always a joy to spend time at Thompson campground. the flies and little black bugs were really bad this year. Had to go in to town for a fly swatter. so nice along the river

I really liked the campground and the area. The abundance of wildlife was a joy to watch and, for the most part, it was very quiet. The one problem was on Friday when a group came in after dark, were yelling amongst themselves, then played music until 3:30 am keeping me awake. There was no one around to enforce the quiet hours or they did not care to enforce the quiet hours. Because of that, it is unlikely I will return in the future.
