Everyone was friendly. The site, restrooms, & showers were clean. We love this campground because the sites are spaced out & you don’t really have close neighbors like you normally do at state parks. The entire campground is completely shaded. Mosquitoes are terrible so pack candles & bug spray!

Campsites were nicely spread out and the staff was very friendly. Bathrooms were clean but showers may be due for a refresh. The only issue was the mosquitos which is really out of anyone's hands this time of year (end of July/early August). Bring bug spray or be ready to make some fires/smoke to help keep them at bay.

I camped at Indiana Dunes National Park for 2 nights. It was my first time here. Proximity to the park’s must see places/hikes/beaches was convenient. Park staff was friendly.
Non-electric, showers, flushing toilets, picnic tables, potable water, some accessible sites, filtered water bottle refill station by the restrooms. Nice big outdoor dishwashing sink. Some sites are back-in, and some are pull in (as if you’re camping along the campground loop’s road, with less privacy).
Many sites were empty. It was quiet. It was a hot summer weekend, with scattered rain/storms. LOTS of gnats.
Sites have a lot of tree cover, so you will be in the shade with lots of branches overhead.
Previous visitors left garbage in the fire pit, which is not good camper etiquette.
Staff should be aware that some non-campers might be showing up to use the showers early in the morning or late in the evening. Perhaps there should be more monitoring of that, as it could be a safety issue.
The bathroom sink faucet stays flowing for about 2 seconds which is not long enough. You have to hold it down with one hand while trying to wash the other hand. Needs longer flow.
Dogs are allowed on all the trails and most of the beaches.

Positives: This was the most well kept campground I've ever been to! The site had been raked and the fire pit cleaned before we arrived and campground host was very friendly. The bathrooms were also very clean and full stocked. If needed, there's a restaurant, convenience store, and liquor store right at the junction of the campground with the main road.
The walk in sites were all a good size - enough pad space for two 6 person tents to easily fit. Ground is sandy and well cared for. Campsites are spaced farther apart than many other campgrounds.
Negatives: There's a good amount of noise from the highway and train tracks. Trains will use their horn all through the night. Heard at least 3 between 11pm and 6am. As long as you're not expecting a wilderness experience, this is a great spot.

Extremely buggy, overgrown. People camping in our site when we arrived.

Nice campground. Sites are spaced so you are not close to your neighbor. Would highly recommend the boat tour with the ranger. It requires a separate fee, but worth it.
