Our family has been camping at West Overlook since we moved to Iowa in 2000. West Overlook is always an excellent place to bring your family for a camp out! Showers and restrooms are clean, hosts are friendly and we can get a quiet night's sleep.

Site 69. Very nice staff, very clean campground. Solon and Iowa City are very close much to do there. Nice boat ramp as well.
Site 69 still 30Amp. Needs new fire ring. The entrance to the park while dragging a camper is a little bit closer than I would like. Needs widening. Got two Bars of 4G with Verizon.

This campground is really beautiful, overlooking the water, there are a few playgrounds which our daughter loved. The beach area was really nice, there were a few families enjoying the sand and water. Our spot was plenty big for our campervan, pretty level too. During the evening we noticed a few bugs, no big deal, but in the morning while we were trying to make breakfast it was like someone broke open a bee hive. We had to pack everything in to our van and drive up towards the water and dumping station to escape. It was a shame, we had such a lovely evening enjoying the campgrounds. The bathrooms were nice and clean, the showers had hot water.

stayed mid week - toward the end of season. Sight was well kept great views of the Lake. and the entire campground was clean and well maintained. Adequate lighting to be out at night. The trees also were trimmed and not walking into low branches you couldn't see at night especially - This was really Appreciated! Maybe the BEST ACOE campground in Iowa we have stayed at

The camp staff kept our fire pits cleaned out from left over coals and burnt wood. The shower/bathrooms were always clean as well.

The West Overlook is a peaceful place, except when there is an avid football fan next to you in a camper. I have spent over 10 weeks randomly camping at West Overlook and 9 out of 10 times it was nice and quiet. The bathrooms are maintained and CLEAN. The shower is hot with good water pressure. The host couples are pleasant and helpful.

From Interstate 80 (Iowa City, IA) take Exit 244 towards Dubuque St./North Liberty. Travel north on Dubuque St. for 3 miles and turn right onto West Overlook Rd. NE. Travel on West Overlook Rd. NE for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
From Interstate 380 (North Liberty, IA) take Exit 4 towards North Liberty. Travel east on W. Penn St. for 2 miles and turn right onto N Dubuque St. Travel south on N Dubuque St. for 1.9 miles, at the traffic circle, continue straight onto Dubuque St NE. Continue traveling south on Dubuque St. NE for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto West Overlook Rd. NE and travel east for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
