West Overlook Campground

Very clean. Bathrooms nearby. Showers available too. Electric at sites. Nearby water source if needed. Overall, very pleasant experience

I had a job working the Iowa State Boy's Baseball Tournament in Iowa City. Rather than staying in a hotel near the stadium, I chose to stay at the campground. It was a good choice since coworkers reported that the hotel was filled with noisy ball players and they did not get much rest. The campground was quiet and peaceful. The shower was and restrooms were convenient and clean. Did not have a chance to use the beach, but it looked nice.

Wow! Very nice and such a pleasant surprise. Very clean. Excellent experience. Was only there 2 nights but wish I could have stayed longer.

Beautiful place! The staff was so accommodating with last minute reservations and to extend the stay on a holiday week.

Showers were nice and clean as well as the campsites.

Only regret was that we only were staying one night and a short night at that. Would have liked to explore the area more.

The campsite was had a little trash from the previous camper in the fire pit (reason for 4 stars) but other than that it was a good site and very nice park. The tank dump and fresh water fill was very convenient. The site we had was surrounding by trees and very peaceful. W

Next time we are in the area, we will plan to spend more time and bring the kayaks!

I stayed at West Overlook while my son was at a wrestling camp. The bathrooms were always clean and I had absolutely no issues. The only struggle was the amount of smoke from the Canadian Wildfires, but that was completely out of the park's control. I would definitely stay again. Lots of wildlife. I even saw a little mink!
