We have camped at West Overlook several times. We appreciate the shade of the mature trees. We love the friendly atmosphere created by the campground host and the rangers that drive through. We are geocachers and this area presents many great "searches". We did not get to visit the Visitors' Center this trip, but in past trips we found it to be well done and very informative - great staff!! One negative would be the shower set up, with each shower house only having two shower stalls which share a common dressing area. Hard to commit to being at grandson's early morning baseball game when you may have to stand in line to take a shower. But... we did hear that a shower remodel may be in the works. Thanks for this great camping experience!

We like all Corp campgrounds, but think Coralville is the Best! We like the beach and enjoy the nearness to a bigger city which provides things to do and many nice restaurants, also close to Kolona and Amana, Ia. - both great places to visit.

From Interstate 80 (Iowa City, IA) take Exit 244 towards Dubuque St./North Liberty. Travel north on Dubuque St. for 3 miles and turn right onto West Overlook Rd. NE. Travel on West Overlook Rd. NE for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
From Interstate 380 (North Liberty, IA) take Exit 4 towards North Liberty. Travel east on W. Penn St. for 2 miles and turn right onto N Dubuque St. Travel south on N Dubuque St. for 1.9 miles, at the traffic circle, continue straight onto Dubuque St NE. Continue traveling south on Dubuque St. NE for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto West Overlook Rd. NE and travel east for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
