We stayed at Sandy Beach for three days. When I made our reservations all the sites but this one were shown as unavailable yet when we arrived only a few were actually occupied. Most remained empty for the three days we were there. The rules very clearly state if you are not there for the first night of your reservation, your reservation is forfeited yet when I checked on line these sites never open up. That stinks! So as for the campground it is very nice. The beach is super nice and was completely empty most of the time we were there. The one thing I really had a problem with was the red ants. Our campsite had a huge nest of them and I was bit by them twice. I noticed lots of red ant nests in the campground so it wasn't just our site.

Our 6th time camping here and we drive 175 miles to get there. One of our favorite places. Very clean and well maintained. Hosts and Rangers go out of their way to make everyone happy and at $10. A night with the lifetime pass it’s cheaper than living in our house! There is even a Devonian era fossil field that was uncovered by a flood not so many years ago that proves that this was once an inland ocean but is now a campground!

This campground was a bit of a disappointment to us, as the sites were quite close and water on a 4-5 spigot standpipe was just out of reach for our hose. The campground was clean.

It was a good overnight, we missed the fact the sites are electric only and was not told about the community water to fill tanks. Nice view and the Fossil Gorge is worth the bike or walk to see.

Sites are nice, level and wide with fire pit/grill and very heavy picnic tables. Most sites are shady with well spaced trees, giving plenty of room to maneuver RV rigs into the sites. Electric only at each site means that you must fill up with water in your rig before entering into the camping area. There is a water spigot in some of the sections but not close enough to most rigs for refilling fresh water tanks. Shower floors, walls, and curtains were not very clean when I was there for several days in July and August. The shower stalls are very strange with 2 shower stalls inside an enclosed area with one bench and no place to hang a towel or anyplace to place shampoo and conditioner bottles. Do not understand why the two shower stalls which limits showering by more than one person at a time unless it is a parent and child.

We stopped here just one night. We camped in site W38, very clean large site, away from busy main loops. Bathrooms very clean . Easy walk to everything. We were there on a Wednesday night and it was very quiet, I'm sure the weekends not so much. I would stay there again.

Everything was great with our site. Only recommendation would be that the fire rings be cleaned out or a larger ring installed. Ours was pretty full of ashes and partially burnt wood when we arrived.
