Despite the rain and the small size of the fish I caught we had a pleasant time at the campground

We camp often at west overlook and most experiences have been excellent. We do not recommend #77 for the following reasons: the site is on the level with and too close to the beach with beach visitors cutting through #77 campsite. Someone, presumably a visitor from the beach, disconnected our electricity when we were gone which caused the fridge to get warm. 7 people were using the picnic table that goes with the site when we returned a couple 6 hours later. During the night, starting around 2 am, we were jolted from sleep when someone in a vehicle somewhere located on a campsite above turned their vehicle headlights onto our camper and left the light focused on our RV until dawn. We do not recommend #77.

Although nestled adjacent to a neighborhood development, this was a quiet and peaceful camping experience. Registration by phone was easy and I was provided a tent site with convenient access to water, toilets and showers. The campground is well run and maintained. I will gladly return again someday.

Very nice campground well maintained. We had a fun time at the beach and checking out the dam.

From Interstate 80 (Iowa City, IA) take Exit 244 towards Dubuque St./North Liberty. Travel north on Dubuque St. for 3 miles and turn right onto West Overlook Rd. NE. Travel on West Overlook Rd. NE for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
From Interstate 380 (North Liberty, IA) take Exit 4 towards North Liberty. Travel east on W. Penn St. for 2 miles and turn right onto N Dubuque St. Travel south on N Dubuque St. for 1.9 miles, at the traffic circle, continue straight onto Dubuque St NE. Continue traveling south on Dubuque St. NE for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto West Overlook Rd. NE and travel east for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
