West Overlook is a great location. It is clean and always well kept. There is usually lots of activity throughout the campground buy it always quiets down by dark.

Excellent campground at a very reasonable price. Volunteer showed up minutes after we arrived and helped us with checking into our lot because the front gate/booth was not open. She was extremely nice and very helpful.

We stay at West Overlook to spend time with our daughter who is at the U of I. The campground was clean and the host that checked us in was very nice. We took our daughter to supper at Red's Alehouse in North Liberty and it was fantastic.

We booked late with only a couple of places left but the site was comfortable (small but fit us well), quiet, we could see the lake. Although we mostly stayed to sleep we determined to come back as the facilities and beach looked great--amazing sunrise!

Scenic campground, very clean. Loved the individual bathrooms at the bathhouse.

This was our first time camping down in this area of the campground and has become our favorite spot! Great site in a beautiful area! Other sites around it are concrete while this is still gravel…not a deal breaker though. Hope they make it concrete during the off season! Will definitely reserve this site again! So much to do here including great trails and plenty of play areas for kids!

From Interstate 80 (Iowa City, IA) take Exit 244 towards Dubuque St./North Liberty. Travel north on Dubuque St. for 3 miles and turn right onto West Overlook Rd. NE. Travel on West Overlook Rd. NE for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
From Interstate 380 (North Liberty, IA) take Exit 4 towards North Liberty. Travel east on W. Penn St. for 2 miles and turn right onto N Dubuque St. Travel south on N Dubuque St. for 1.9 miles, at the traffic circle, continue straight onto Dubuque St NE. Continue traveling south on Dubuque St. NE for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto West Overlook Rd. NE and travel east for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
