Howell Station is a highly praised campground known for its spacious, clean sites and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a favorite for families. Campers enjoy the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and numerous recreational opportunities, including biking and wildlife watching. Some minor improvements are suggested, like better Wi-Fi and complete hookups, but overall, visitors have had great experiences and plan to return.

Had a great time with the exception of absolutely no, none in any stall, toilet paper in the restroom at one point.

Howell Station NEEDS wifi. Many people in this camping generation now use hotspots for connectivity. Our cell phones do not work in the campground. There were storms the night we were there and had no idea how dangerous they were because we had no connectivity. We use US Cellular which works everywhere else in central Iowa.

Love the grounds here and size of the campsites. Clean bathrooms! Trails and bridge are awesome! Wish the WiFi was better or even to take a call without dropping, but it’s behind the damn so you can’t be picky.

Very well maintained campground. Plenty of room between campsites needs more dumpsters instead of just the 1 at the entrance. Playground needs to be bigger and better Wi-Fi reception

We just love Howell Station. The sites are huge and we had great shade. Love the bike path. Close to Pella for fun there. Close to the boat ramp for the lake. Bath houses are a little tired but kept clean and water was hot.

Love this campground! Big camp sites, extremely well maintained campground with lots of mature trees. Very clean restrooms & showers. Easily assessible, large dump station. We love the bike trail around the
beautiful lake & the fact that it is accessible right at the campground. It is definitely our favorite campground in Iowa! Army Corp of Engineers campgrounds definately know how to do it right.
