Howell Station is a highly praised campground known for its spacious, clean sites and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a favorite for families. Campers enjoy the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and numerous recreational opportunities, including biking and wildlife watching. Some minor improvements are suggested, like better Wi-Fi and complete hookups, but overall, visitors have had great experiences and plan to return.

This was my second time camping at Howell Station. This is a very clean and beautiful campground. Our site was on the Des Moines river and we really enjoyed the trails and watching the eagle dive into the river to catch fish. We will be back.

It is a beautiful campground and enjoyed the stay. Was hoping for a dog park so I could let my dog run or play ball for a little bit every day.

Restrooms were very clean. Camp sites and spacious. Pella and Knoxville are near by. The river has a half bridge for eagle vs viewing.

Beautiful campground. Peaceful and quiet, well-maintained and very clean. The check-in host was REALLY wonderful and helpful. Iowa hospitality at its best.

We love all the space we have around us. We usually camp with other members of the family in their campers. It’s a great experience.

Plenty of space, convenient electric hookup, and the nearby restroom/shower was impressively clean.
