What Guests Are Saying
Howell Station is a highly praised campground known for its spacious, clean sites and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a favorite for families. Campers enjoy the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and numerous recreational opportunities, including biking and wildlife watching. Some minor improvements are suggested, like better Wi-Fi and complete hookups, but overall, visitors have had great experiences and plan to return.

Last 2x we have been there, the grass is so long you don't want to even walk through it. Not enjoyable.

Howell Station is one of our favorites! We stay a few times a year! Book early as it can be hard to get weekend dates. The sites are long, wide and level. Tons of space between you and the next camper. Showers and restrooms have always been clean. The check in process is quick and simple and friendly. If you are boating, be sure to get your pass so you don’t have to pay to use the ramps around the lake and river. Walking trail is nice, lots of people use it, including “non-campers”. Just be aware if you are taking your fur family as to where your site will be. We camp with ours and it can be a little distracting, but ours get used to it quickly. There is a boat dock to the river close by, with very nice fish cleaning station. Lake access is not terribly far away and many to pick from. Firewood can be purchased in the campground or at local houses on the way there.

Howell Station is one of the prettiest places we have camped in. The sites are huge and far apart, there are extensive walking trails including a bridge over the river, and the flocks of water birds who reside there are amazing. We visited to view the tulips in Pella, an event which is worth the trip especially on Sunday when the crowds are gone and only the tulips remain.

Love the spacious campsites and many shade trees along with the view of the river and dam. Pella is close by and has many things to do.
