What Guests Are Saying
Howell Station is a highly praised campground known for its spacious, clean sites and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a favorite for families. Campers enjoy the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and numerous recreational opportunities, including biking and wildlife watching. Some minor improvements are suggested, like better Wi-Fi and complete hookups, but overall, visitors have had great experiences and plan to return.

Howell Station is one of our all time favorite campgrounds. The sites are huge, the grounds are well kept and there's so much to do in the area while camping...biking, fishing, kayaking and exploring the beauty that Iowa and Pella have to offer.

I like how clean the restrooms are, the camping spaces are not close to together, the road is good for biking. Just everything about Howell Station is great. We camped down there when our children were younger and now we bring our 2 grandson's camping. We had a fold down many years ago. And just last year 2020 we purchased a much better camper and the experience is even better than before.

For the most part things went well however the grass needed mowed and there are so many holes thru out the grassy areas it really is an obstacle course especially for the elderly and disabled. It also seems the rules only apply to certain people we had a car parked completely on the grass by our camper most every night yet when one of the wheels of a friends car was on the grass they were told about it right away. Was pleased with the bath house it was kept real clean and the hosts were pleasant also.

Seeing Bald Eagles and other animals in the campground makes this a very enjoyable stay. Nice trails for walking, running or biking as well. The spots are spacious and quiet.
