What Guests Are Saying
Howell Station is a highly praised campground known for its spacious, clean sites and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a favorite for families. Campers enjoy the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and numerous recreational opportunities, including biking and wildlife watching. Some minor improvements are suggested, like better Wi-Fi and complete hookups, but overall, visitors have had great experiences and plan to return.

All corps of Engineers parks are usually very good. We have camped at Sugarbottom and Red Rock at least 2 or 3 times every year for the last 20 or more years. Howell Station is what we usually get every Labor day . We camp with 8 or 10 relatives there every year and enjoy our stay there as we usually stay a week.

It was a great stay, the only down side was the water to the hydrants was turned off and I don't have a very large holding tank in my camper and I had chosen a site close to a hydrant so I didn't have to walk too far with my water carrier. But with all the hydrants turned off I had to make several trips to the entrance to fill my water carrier.

We enjoy staying at Howell Station. It is very close to our home so we do not need to travel far to camp. The campground is always very clean and well maintained.
In the evenings it is nice to see the deer come out and eat and normally an owl or two to listen hoot.
The play grounds are kept up so our grandkids have a nice place to play and the campground is rather level which makes riding bikes a pleasurable thing to go and do during the day along with walking trails if you want to go for a hike.

We always enjoy our stay at Howell Station. The sites are spacious, the hiking/biking paths wide, safe, with interesting views. The play grounds well maintained. It’s a family favorite place to stay.

Our family has camped at Howell Station many times since it has opened. We like the bike trail, nearby fishing, fires at night, fire rings for cooking, clean showers, restrooms and electricity for air conditioning and our refrigerator.

It was really great until I took my Grandson down by the Dam to fish and ran into some of the wild parsnips plants. Which I did not see the flower so it may have just been the stem.
