What Guests Are Saying
Minooka Park is a beautiful and clean campground with spacious sites and stunning views of the lake, making it a favored destination for families. Visitors appreciate the relaxing atmosphere, amenities like playgrounds, and the friendliness of the staff. However, some concerns were raised about the need for more electric camping spots, maintenance of facilities, and issues with no-show reservations.

This is a very nice, well kept facility. We only stayed one night, while traveling through, but would consider returning for several nights in the future. We actually found the park accidentally while looking for the state park nearby and took a wrong turn. The check-in facility was closed and the sign misleading as to what to do if one doesn't have a reservation, but fortunately a park ranger/attendant came by while we were trying to figure things out and was very helpful getting us into a very well suited site.

There is technically a host, but, not available any time I needed to speak to one. Not even a local phone number to call, just the usual distant reservation number posted on the gatehouse as if that were some help, and they tell you they will not help you with any issues, just make reservations. You are very much on your own here. Many sites are marked FCFS, but then cannot be paid for online, so they go unoccupied. The showers; I saw 8, all with one faucet 'hot', got unbearably hot by the end of a shower.
Do NOT drive through the state park to get here, crazy up-down route, come in from the west instead.

Well maintained sites, great view. This campground is our preferred rest point on trips to/from the Rockies.
Recommend to bring your own drinking water.
