Well kept campsites located right across from the marina. Easy check in and plenty for the kids to do. Only deducted one star due to cleanliness of the restrooms.

Beautiful campground, well-maintained, camp hosts, Bridget and Charles were so friendly and helpful with any questions we had and offered even more information on the surrounding area and what to do.

We have been coming to WAX for years. 4th of July weekend was the worst we have experienced. Park Rangers were overbearing all weekend and rude when there was nothing that needed attention. We understand they are there to make sure people are following the rules and safe. It was 7:30 in the evening; still daylight outside; and we were celebrating our Independence at our site laughing and talking amongst friends. We weren’t doing anything out of the ordinary besides having some fun and talking. Our group had 7 sites reserved so we were together for a few hours at one site. The Park Rangers came up to us and said we were imposing on others and they were very disrespectful. It was not quiet time and the fireworks that went off an hour later were much louder than we were. We asked our camping neighbors if we were bothering them or loud and they said they couldn’t even hear us and we were absolutely not bothering them. We always Abide by the quiet time rules most likely because we are old and go to bed early anyway. It is not necessary to get on people for talking and laughing outside before quiet time.
Also, the shoreline around A was a mess. I know it had rained and all the debris comes up on the shore but we pay our taxes and pay for our site. It wouldn’t hurt to clean it up a bit especially on a busy holiday weekend.
I never complain and I’m never negative but come on. Let people have a little fun when they are bothering anyone and are being safe. And clean the campground up some.

We love Wax and always spend a few days there each summer! Our favorite spot it A11! This year we saw quite a hit of poison ivy and the grass was needing to be cut, but we still had a great trip!

The road to the park is another story. Very narrow! Beware if you have a huge camper.
