We always enjoy our stay at Wax, that being said, I’ve noticed that since the inception of the all volunteer staff, maintenance has went downhill. There is grass growing inside the camp site, tree limbs are everywhere, and low hanging limbs need to be trimmed along the roads. I would also like to see Wax stay open longer than Labor Day. Kentucky weather is usually decent up to the end of October, and closing so early just doesn’t make sense.

This was our 3rd time staying at Wax, and everything went well as always. If only we'd get a completely rain-free stay it'd be a change, but can't control the weather. Used the same site we always do, which is conveniently right across the street from the restroom and shower bldg. It's level, and spacious enough for our squaredrop trailer, even when we add the rear walls to the 270 awning. Staff is always helpful & friendly. Returning once again in about a week.

The concrete posts in the ground make it difficult to enter the space, even though it was a pull thru. We were in site B014.

We picked our spot online, it showed lots of trees, but when we got there, the trees were dead and provided no shade. The attendant told us we could pick from the vacant spots and change the reservation online. We were able to do this, but called customer service just to be sure it went through. The campground was very beautiful and the bathrooms were relatively clean. I especially liked the shed with fresh produce, sauces, and firewood. We picked this campground due to is proximity to Mammoth Caves.

Low voltage through out our stay 102- 106 volts at the pedestal. Not sufficient to operate the a/c without potentially damaging the unit.
