What Guests Are Saying

Pikes Ridge is highly praised as a clean, well-maintained campground with beautiful views and friendly hosts, making it a favorite for many families over the years. Guests appreciate the spacious shower facilities, peaceful atmosphere, and excellent access to water activities like kayaking and fishing. Some minor concerns include the narrow access road and occasional noise from generators, but these do not significantly detract from the overall positive experience.

This was simply one of the cleanest COE campgrounds at which we have stayed. It was was well kept, clean, sites were largely level. This was one of the first ones where our campsite had clearly been cleaned before we got there - there were no cigarette butts laying around. The fire pits had been cleaned out, but any wood left in them was still there for the next person. Our site had a couple of anomalies, such as our lantern hook was in a weird place and the fire ring had been moved to another site, the latter being an easy fix. The picnic tables were in good shape and sturdy.
The porta-potties were kept spotless by staff and they were not allowed to get over full. Do I wish they had flush toilets and shower houses, yes - but I did know what I was getting in to. I think there may be some in the future.
Staff and rangers were very visible, and the sheriffs department drove through once or twice an evening. Staff and rangers were not only proactive, but very responsive; and they clearly have a water safety program in place.
Even though we stayed over a holiday weekend - Memorial Day, no one seemed to get out of line, quiet hours were observed. Lots of people stayed up at their campsites, but there wasn’t any loud music or generators running late into the night or early in the morning. Two early, early mornings of the weekend (between 2 and 4 am) we did have fireworks and gun shots going off, but they were from the state park campground across the way. But the rangers and the SO resolved it by the third morning.
As it was a last minute reservation, we felt lucky to even get a place, and weren’t sure quite what to expect. But this place is just a jewel.

Really enjoyed my stay at Pikes Ridge! It has something for everyone. Take the boat or kayaks out on the water, take a swim or just sit back and relax. Don’t forget the poles for the fishing. The campgrounds were well maintained. Glad to see a bathhouse is on the way. As for me and my family we will be back again!!

Wonderful smaller campground with nice amenities (a few docks, level sites with nice spacing, boat ramp and fishing pier).
The toilets are a fare piece away from campsites and no showers. Tent sites are nice and lots of trees to enjoy summer shade. Overall a quiet retreat that gets used heavily. We fish here spring and fall and love it

Beautiful area, very quiet and relaxing. Sites are level and well maintained, they are a little close to each other, but still very quiet. Lots of wildlife. Beach area was closed, disappointing. Our site the fire ring was in an awkward position (#6), you’re looking straight at your neighbors picnic table, should be toward the back of the site overlooking the lake. A shower house would be nice, definitely can make do without one, but it would be nice. Definitely will return, it’s beautiful

This was probably our 7th or 8th year for our yearly week vacation. It was quiet and beautiful as always. We must compliment the cleaning lady who was there daily cleaning spiderwebs off the railings, wiping down the entire playground and cleaning the portajons. She was amazing! We have never seen anyone do the cleaning that she did. It was unfortunate that the beach had to be closed because of ecoli.
