This campground was relaxing, clean, friendly and close to town for any necessities. Everyone was helpful and hopefully when we camp here again we'll have better luck fishing. Even without luck, our bank fishing was relaxing.

The weather was great to go fishing. It’s peaceful at the Canal and we was able to see deer all around. Even saw an almost all white beautiful Skunk. . My favorite place to go to just get away from home.

Very shaded site, more full hook up would be great in all campgrounds

We love this campground. We stayed in lot 70 this time and the only thing we would’ve liked better was if the trees were trimmed back so we could see the lake better. The lot was nice nice though.

The camp is clean and generally quiet. My recommendation is that everyone should have to confirm their reservations....too many reserving sites and not showing up when they are supposed to and there are other people who would like to have those sites. Also, recommend after campground opens that people on site handle the reservations.

Great campground with lots of wide, wooded campsites and a friendly, helpful staff. Clearly popular with the locals since it was packed mid-week. Even though it was fairly full, it didn’t seem cramped or crowded. The facilities were clean and functional, with lots of water activities for the whole family. We would highly recommend Canal Campground.

We love Canal. We got a site on the water this time and really enjoyed the view. We always go to the Elk and Bison range while at Ky Lake. Patties Settlement and the Willow Pond are two restaurants we go to.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District firewood policy is now in effect and seeks the public’s cooperation to prevent the spread of forest insects and disease at campgrounds in the Cumberland River Basin. The firewood policy requires visitors at Lake Barkley’s campgrounds to use only firewood that has been certified as heat-treated by U.S. Department of Agriculture or state natural resource agency. |
