Employees and volunteers friendly and always helpful. Facilities clean. Mostly I hiked the wonderful trails last visit as it was too cold to swim yet. Even my camping neighbors were the greatest. They came over to check on me and tell me bad weather was on the way. I camp with a dog in a teardrop so they were concerned about me and the wind. Storm was not as bad as weatherman made it out to be. Favorite campground in Kentucky!!!

Very nice campsite. Spacious and mostly private. Friendly campground host whose site is across from this one. Showers in G loop were decent with consistently hot water. Hiking trail from the campground had easy access from H loop. We plan to return to Holly Bay Campground.

Peaceful and quiet when we were there in mid March. The dark skies were more easily viewed at this time before the foliage was filled in. Campsites were spaced out very nicely and at least the one that we stayed on was level such that I didn't have to do anything other than back in. The bathrooms and showers were in need of improvement and repairs.

The camp hosts were phenomenal. They came around soon after we arrived and asked if we needed ice or firewood. As soon as a camper left, they appeared and raked the gravel “patio” and removed ashes from the fire pit. The sites were neat and well spaced. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Water and electricity at every site. We will be back!

Overall, the campground and campsites are wonderful. My one consistent issue though is with the booking process. Only about a third of the sites have pictures available, and the specifications of the sites are inaccurate. For instance, on our last trip there, we booked and stayed in a site rated for double occupancy. It was long enough for two campers; however, the site indicated it was only long enough for 25 feet. They really need to improve their site details on the internet.

Great place to camp. Clean and comfortable, lots of space between sites, and sites are clean.

The new management at Holly Bay is absolutely TRAGIC!!!! The new staff members are unbelievably rude and disrespectful. Been going to Holly Bay all of my life and this new management has completely ruined this campsite. It’s beyond sad what they’re turning it into and it’s so upsetting. I wanted to raise my kids with the best experiences and make the best memories at Holly Bay just like I had as a child but I unfortunately will not be able to do so and will not return due to the disrespect they have shown us in the last few visits we have had… I wish I could rate zero stars because that’s how terrible the new management is!
