Mammoth Cave Campground

Such fun! Lots of history as well as trails and cave adventures

Good park. Good trails.

The campground was lovely! The facilities very nice and clean, having an air conditioned restroom was awesome! Loved the evening talk with the ranger about stars and constellations. Fearless squirrels raided our food kept in cardboard boxes, so next time we will be more prepared! We did the domes and dripstones tour as a family and we learn something new on every tour (this was our 4th visit). Our daughter did the Trog tour and while she was nervous to start, she ultimately LOVED it!! The visitor's center is always kept lovely, the food options are great! Having icecream available on a hot day is always a win. :)

I had two different campsites due to my last minute planning for the second night. The first was good, The second need the picnic table to be raised a bit on gravel because it was surrounded by water when it rained. A simple fix. I appreciate not being crammed in lake many private campgrounds. I don't need electric or water or sewer for my brief stays.

Everything was clean and wonderful!

Campgrounds are well kept bathrooms are very clean, we used a pop-up camper, there were people coming in late in the evening after dark ,slaming doors and shining lights in our camper, they never got settled until after 11pm I felt that this was unnecessary.

Great camp site. The only issue was it was beside the street. Get one NOT right by the street. We got #26 and it was by the Green River Ferry Road. At night, lights be flashing by. But other than that, it's near the visitor center like a couple mins drive, has shower and bathroom, post office, and mini convenient store. Campsite that are nearest to the bathrooms are #14, 15, 38,37, 50 and 51 within our loop. We're here July24,2024. Mosquitos swirming us at trails even with repellent sprayed on us. Our thermacell product worked at our campsite. We placed on table and it did it's thing. Didn't get swirms of mosquitos. Woke up to beautiful sound of birds chirping and singing. Saw also a lot of deers passing by. Love the trees around the camp site.

Overall, great camp site. I would recommend the historic tour of the cave. Two hour walk with a few ducking, squeezing, sitting, learning and climbing up the stairs. Had a fun guide, too, with a great sense of humor. Made us laugh. We would have walked more trails, but we couldn't stand the mosquitos swirming at us esp nearing dusk.

It was quiet, shaded with a bathroom nearby. There are paid showers and supplies at the camp store. It was unfortunate that all the tours were booked up that we could do so sign up and plan ahead for those.

This is one of our favorite national park campgrounds. Site 45 is a corner outer loop site with lots of room. The campground sites overall have lots of space. Deer wander through the campground. THE BATHROOM IS AIR CONDITIONED! It’s also always been very clean whenever we visit. There are pay showers and a small laundromat at the camp store. Cell phone coverage is weak but there is wifi at the campground entrance kiosk and the camp store.

Great place to camp. We'll maintained bathrooms (showers are a bit pricey, but not horrible). Cave city is near by with anything and even you could want or need.
