The ranger at check-in was helpful. I appreciated having the picnic table and fire grate (even though I didn't use mine). I was warned online that leveling my truck camper might be challenging, and it was, but that wasn't a surprise. The site was clean. Other campers observed quiet hours. My campsite was in easy walking/biking distance from the Visitors' Center. There was a nighttime viewing party during my stay. The camp store and USPS were close by. Restaurant food was available at the nearby motel complex. The circuitous hiking trail I chose to walk was well-marked and accessible.

C78 was big and private, enjoyed dawn and dusk visits from family of deer. Campground facilities well-maintained and it was great we could collect dead wood for fires -- so many other parks can't or don't do that. Shout out to camp store which sells excellent fire starters in muffin cups.

Quiet spot. Make sure to bring a leaf blower if you plan on tent camping. There was no site prep so you have to clear your own area when you arrive. Also, I wish I would have known the showers were tied to the general store that was already closed for the season. The booking sites advertise showers. So no showers if you book in the fall when the store is closed for the season. Overall, we enjoyed the stay! Would stay there again.

The campsite was even, smooth, and well-maintained! The bathrooms were ok, but not super clean. Location was pretty and the loop made a nice walking path.

Great location for camping in Mammoth Cave, less than a 15 minute walk to the Visitor Center, 5 minute drive. The campground also has a few trails linked to it, which is great if you want to avoid the large crowds. Area was very quiet in mid-November, which was nice.
