What Guests Are Saying
Axtel campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, particularly Vickie, who ensures a pleasant experience for visitors. Many families enjoy the quiet atmosphere, spacious campsites with easy access to water activities, and a welcoming community of fellow campers. However, some guests noted issues such as low water levels, closed restrooms, and occasional noise, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences reported.

At the Lodge for activities, you can find putt-putt golf, disc golf, tennis, basketball, as well as the beach. There are walking trails at Axtel camping, as well as activities for bicycling, corn hole and swimming on the beach. Or you can take your destination to "Lafayette Golf Club House" to play 18 holes of golf at "Falls of Rough," see the "Old Mill and Bridge," and eat along the way at the "Lake House Restaurant."

This is a beautiful campground surrounding a lake. We were there after the summer rush, so it was very quiet, which I love.

My wife and I are tent campers and this is one of our favorite campgrounds. Beautiful and roomy sites, very clean restrooms, Don and Jo are excellent hosts and have been very helpful and friendly.

Always enjoy my trips to axtle, Beautiful
place with friendly workers and host. I was going to stay Sunday to Friday. Decided on Wednesday to stay through the weekend, said something to host. He found out what was still open on ejectric and water sites and had me Jump in cart and took me around and showed what was left.

First time here had a great time. Shore was horribly muddy to swim in. Daughter lost a shoe and broke the other. Beach was very nice though.

It saddens us that the park is not better maintained. Grass growing within the sites, bathrooms closed and the rumor is to be torn down because there is a leak. Large rocks (that I'm sure children have moved) never put back so mowers can mow properly. We enjoy the park and these things have not stopped our visits, but like I said it's sad!
