I always love staying at Boat Gunnel, but it is really hard to reserve because it is so popular. I usually can't plan 1 year ahead to be able to reserve it. We went with 3 campers, 2 were 50 amp and 1 30 amp. You can plug 4 campers in as long as they don't go over 50 and 30 on each post. We tried to plug a 50 and a 30 together and I kept blowing breakers. I run 2 air conditioners and 2 refrigerators. I pulled my refrigerator to gas and it worked okay. There is a large shelter with 6 or 8 picnic tables, lights, electric and water close. Also a large charcoal grill with a nice aluminum work table beside it. There is a large fire pit with benches around it. You get to enjoy a private bathhouse with two toilets and two showers in both the men's and women's side. There is also a family bathroom. The water spigot is about 100 ft. to the furthest camper site. The privacy is the best, being able to close the gate and not have to worry about cars coming in where the kids are riding their bikes and playing. Nice little trails to hike around the campsite and trails down to the lake. We usually bring a couple of boats and leave them tied to the bank. The hosts this year were great. They were on top of keeping everything clean and orderly. There is also about 10 tent sites that go with this site. We have used a couple of them along with the campers for the kids. Nicely laid out with plenty of room for a large tent, fire ring, table and lantern pole on each site. Love this place and highly recommend it!

This is our all-time favorite camping spot! And the camp host, Laura, was the most personable, helpful host we’ve ever encountered!

This site is ideal for a group of tent campers, and is very pretty and lots of space between the tent sites. We were a group of six travel trailers, and there was enough room for all of us to park in the lot. There are only two posts, each with a 50, 30, and 110 outlet. We were able to run all six campers off the two with lots of extension cords and adapters. Not sure if they would have run A/C units, but worked fine in cool weather camping. The bathhouse is clean, but only had two showers and two toilets on each side. One of the showers on the men's side didn't work well at all, the other could have used a little maintenance as well. The host was extremely friendly and kept the place spotless while we were there.

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights and we had so much fun. Host was wonderful to speak to and he took care of many things. It was very nice having the picnic shelter and bathhouse when needed. And being by the water was great for the kids. Will stay again soon.
