About Twin Knobs Campground

Nestled on the shores of Cave Run Lake, this camp is part of the larger Twin Knobs Recreation Area. There are more than 200 sites spread out over 10 loops under a dense forest of mixed conifer and deciduous trees. The recreation area includes two reservable group picnic areas. Group camping is also available.

We love Twin Knobs campground. We have been coming there for many years and have found that the campground is well cared for. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The only complaint we have is the checkout time being changed from 1 pm to 11 am. This makes it very difficult to get everything packed up in time. I understand that it takes time for the workers to get the sites ready for the next occupant, but we think that a more reasonable checkout time would be 12:00 pm. Just a suggestion, Thanks for keeping a great campground!

when we went to bed there was a lot of light coming from other camper's sites. most from the camper, or RV's themselves it did make it hard to sleep. but overall had a good time.

Twin Knobs Campground is one of our favorite family campgrounds because it is clean, located closely to Lexington and has one of the prettiest lakes in Kentucky to recreate on! We have been coming for years and even held our daughters wedding there in 2019. Love it!
