About Baileys Point

Bailey's Point campground is the largest of the Army Corps of Engineers' campgrounds on Barren River Lake. This campground offers several waterfront campsites with scenic views of the lake. Though the campground is one of the largest, you won't know it. There is room to roam, five camping loops with diverse scenery, and private coves for swimming or mooring your boat. We had a great view of the water. It was beautiful to watch sunsets of the evening. Close access to water. Was a little away from wash house but that was no problem. Loved it.

The bathrooms and showers were very clean and in great shape. The campsites were level and beautiful. A great view of the lake could be seen from many of the campsites. We camped on Loop B and it was very clean and well kept. Mammoth Cave was a scenic 49 miles away. We will definitely camp here again if we pass this way.

Very disappointed in Baileys Point. We have been coming in for 20+ years and this is the worst it has been.
During the week it was fine but when Thursday came it got really bad. There were more than the allowed 6 people on multiple sites. There were cars parked everywhere, including the grass. There was no room for my trailer in the boat lot because it was full of cars. There were golf carts and cars driving around well into the night. Kids were playing in the showers spraying the hose into the stalls where people were. We didn't see the campground attendants drive around at all during the weekend and several times we drove through they were closed for the day and had shortened hours other days. What happened to the rules we agree to when we book our sites. We saw multiple snakes this time and even one in our site. I am not sure what is going on but something needs to be done.

Bath-houses are cleaned every day; no A/C but bearable in the mornings and evenings....hot in the middle of the day in August when outside temps are 95+ Hosts are always friendly. Nice large sites. My favorite place to camp!!!

Policies & Rules

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
