What Guests Are Saying

Waitsboro Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with great views of Lake Cumberland, making it a lovely getaway for couples and families. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and features friendly staff who enhance the experience. However, some challenges include tight maneuvering for larger trailers and an inconveniently located dump station, which can be frustrating for newcomers. Overall, many campers enjoyed their stay and expressed a desire to return.

Nice place. Friendly people. Not much for swimming but we managed to find a spot on sight and there's a beach near by. Clean. Greats views of the lake.

We were not able to get on our site at 3 due to the campers on the site not packing up. They just moved to a different site. Host did not stop to say anything. Also host did not check site to see if it was cleaned up after the campers left and we had to clean up the site before setting up. The drive through the campground is bumpy from road being patched. The dump station is backwards from the flush valves on the camper so you can't really bring your camper up to flush. You will need a portable dump tank. Beautiful views of the lake, but wished there was more access to the lake except at the back of the campground for steps. Have to walk to the circle to access the lake because of lack of parking due to 4 campsites back in the circle.

Been camping here my whole life. As always I enjoyed the beautiful views and access to Lake Cumberland! Unfortunately though it’s not perfect. They have closed some of the sites due to erosion, considering it’s a beautiful federal recreation area, I wish they would invest where necessary to keep all of these sites open! Also the dump station needs some attention. It’s located on a hillside and can be difficult if not dangerous to dump your RV tanks. I’ve been attending this campground since the early 1980’s and will continue to do so. I just wish they would do what’s necessary to make the place even better! All in all it’s a great place to stay!

The campsites are very tiny & the man on the golf cart was not friendly at all. We will never go back there.
