What Guests Are Saying
Waitsboro Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with great views of Lake Cumberland, making it a lovely getaway for couples and families. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and features friendly staff who enhance the experience. However, some challenges include tight maneuvering for larger trailers and an inconveniently located dump station, which can be frustrating for newcomers. Overall, many campers enjoyed their stay and expressed a desire to return.

My experience was absolutely unbelievable here. I am not a camper but learning to camp here is just natural. Views are absolutely breathtaking. Times like this are get off social media and cell phones..turn everything off for the days u are three .. Just enjoy nature and the scenery. Enjoy eachother's company. If you go fishing, find spots to fish ..certain areas are better due to all the driftwood which I have never seen so much of in my life ..places like this are spectacular! I encourage everybody to visit here at least once ..ENJOY THE ADVENTURE ..EMBRACE IT!

This is our second visit(first was phenomenal and also tent camped) Spot #7 with trailer camper.. bathrooms were kinda dirty, we took Clorox wipes and cleaned them. The site itself was extremely soft and unlevel, however we blamed the rain since we had a few floods a few weekend prior. The campground manager was very helpful. Frequent drive thrus to check on guests. The dump station was probably our biggest complaint, it’s in a horrible location. We had to drive to another campground and pay to be able to dumb appropriately.
*scenery was WONDERFUL*
I will stay again, just not in spot 7.

We had trouble finding the campground at first, the link from Recreation.gov led us through a tiny mansion subdivision. Once we finally found it we were very happy! Our site was in the far loop with only 3 other campers. We had Lake Cumberland view from all our windows. Very quiet and maintained OK (the bathrooms are old and could use some love). The only caution is the location of the dump station is difficult to say the least, we chose to go to a State Park nearby and pay to dump instead of that challenge.

I was very happy with the Waitsboro campground. Great views of Lake Cumberland, campground is well maintained and clean, including the bathrooms which are better than most other campgrounds that I've experienced. Congrats to the staff of Waitsboro on great Job. I hope to be back soon.

Beautiful place to camp right along the banks of the river. The camp hoist and rangers were very nice and friendly.

The people camping around us in a tent had a birthday party and had lots of cars in and out all weekend. I thought there was only 2 cars allowed per site but they had 4 there most of the weekend. They were very loud late into the night.
