We camped there for a few days and it was extremely peaceful. The beach is beautiful, and waking up to horses trotting down the beach was unforgettable. Really loved Assateague and will definitely come back!

Good site location. Wild ponies congregated right next to our motorhome. Really cool experience with wildlife. Clean. Well-managed and maintained.

Nice quiet space with very private-like beach access. Lots of stars at night. Beautiful sunrise. Only negatives is that you are not notified of a $25 park vehicle fee when making your reservation. Also, other campers are people who monopolize the reservations for their friends and families. The park should shorten the limit you can camp in consecutive days to 3 days during the summer months. Give more people the chance to experience the beach camping during the summer.

Loved everything about Assateague Island. Only thing that I think could be improved is to have a seperate entrance line for campers to come and go during the course of the day. It was too long a wait to come back in the campground while waiting for day trips to pay..

Another great stay!! Love the upgraded picnic tables that really help us detract the horses and other wild life. Bathrooms and showers super clean. Check in staff friendly and knowledgeable. Would have loved this trip a little more over site about campers setting up after dark- but it makes sense for the heat - just too loud. Thank you park service employees for all the care you place in assisting us campers to have a great safe stay in such an incredible place!
