Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

Heated bathrooms and hot showers!! Very clean, quiet campground in February. Zero complaints for winter camping. Some of the trails were closed, but this is to be expected in the off-season (I live 15 minutes from the New River Gorge National Park, very familiar with off-season work on trails/roads/etc.). I was visiting the city so I didn't have a lot of time to explore, but can't wait to return. Perfect campground for a DC visit.

Excellent facilities and amazing location near DC. Hard to believe that there is so much wooded area at this camp ground. We felt like we were well isolated with plenty of room/space between camp sites. The fire pit was perfect for grilling food (had a built in grill).

The campground was easy to find, and my site was set up well. However, the bathrooms were locked, and there was no one to assist since I arrived after hours.

Great place to stop over. Would like you to keep improving infrastructure though.
