Convenient to public transport to Washington DC. Nicely spaced out sites on pavement with picnic table and fire ring. We stayed in site A78 which was level and handy to entrance. Park still in cleanup after July storm and most trails are closed. Restrooms could use some TLC (not clean).

Traveling from New England back to SC, it was awesome to be able to find a spot at the last minute, as traffic had gotten unbearable.
The campground was very beautiful, as the leaves had turned - it was peaceful. Unfortunately, the bathhouses could use some work - we had been excited at the possibility of showers after 10 days in the camper, but after checking them out, we declined.
Overall, value was received for the last minute reservation & overnight stay.
