What Guests Are Saying
Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

Traveling from New England back to SC, it was awesome to be able to find a spot at the last minute, as traffic had gotten unbearable.
The campground was very beautiful, as the leaves had turned - it was peaceful. Unfortunately, the bathhouses could use some work - we had been excited at the possibility of showers after 10 days in the camper, but after checking them out, we declined.
Overall, value was received for the last minute reservation & overnight stay.

Beautiful place to stay! Ideal location to everything! Very quiet, close to shopping, 10 minutes from the Metro to Washington Mall. Only downside is that sites are not very level. They say site length is 35', but it was tight for our 31'.

It’s kind of surreal that such a beautiful natural and well laid out camp can be found, as it is, surrounded by the metropolis of wider Washington. This place is a largely undiscovered gem. The facilities are kept clean and tidy and the showers are hot (and free)!! The staff are both friendly and helpful. At only $20 a day, it’s certainly been one of the absolute best camps we’ve stayed at on our 4 month journey through the US. Russ & Linda (New Zealand)
