What Guests Are Saying
Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

Stayed on B & D loop, both were excellent. Exceptionally beautiful end of October Fall Leaves. Plenty of space between campsites, each has picnic table and fire pit. Large field and jungle gym for kids. Fellow campers , hosts, friendly and followed quiet times. Hot showers and clean restrooms. If you are an RV, especially larger than a Class B, make sure to bring your leveling blocks. This is a great campground for tent campers. Trails were closed after Ian however plenty of paved walking in heavily wooded areas. rangers office has lots of information and Park police are right next door.

Great campsites especially for smaller RVs, vans and tent campers. Clean restrooms, HOT showers, plenty of space, jungle gym at Sweetgum picnic park with very very large grass area. A Saturday night campfire community circle in case you want to partake. Friendly staff and hosts and in general when we were there (fall) campers followed the noise rules.

This is a nice spot really close to DC which is quite unique. However, there is a lot of noise because it is so close to neighborhoods and with three major roads that wrap the park. If you require peace and tranquility while camping, you won’t really like it. We used earplugs and were just fine for sleeping. The sites are a bit dated (really old picnic tables and not level site) and could use some love (aside from the recent storm which has really impacted the park sadly). Again though, if looking for a quick (and cheap!) getaway and a campfire, you’ll be happy you visited. The hot showers are a plus for a NPS campground!

No one was there in our camping loop, so that was great. There were some people coming and going, which was a little sketchy. Never saw a park ranger. The camping sites are very close together. I can't imagine being there when it is busy. The bathrooms were pretty solid, not messy or smelly. It is close to the highway and we could hear all the cars and sounded like someone was having a party near by. I brought my dog and she had a blast!
