What Guests Are Saying
Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

You definitely need to look at all the pictures of the campsites before you book. The only issue we had was that the site we originally picked was not good for the camping gear that we bought and we had to file for a refund and buy a different site. Some of them are quite hilly, so just be vigilant. Other than that, the facilities were nice, the staff was very friendly and understanding and it was fairly quiet.

This was our second stay at Greenbelt and while it was different (more than 10 years apart), it was good. The campground obviously had some storm damage, but the sites that were open were in good shape. The Campground Host on our loop was friendly and helped us when we had to switch sites due to a problem getting our RV onto the site we reserved. We were visiting the area to go to Washington DC and it was close to the Metro, which was great!

Nice peaceful campground near Washington. It was not busy at all in early October. The hiking trails were all closed due to a bad wind storm in July. The restrooms were in need of repairs but I understand the funding issues that the NPS is experiencing. I appreciated the new fire pits and freshly paved roads. The campground host was very friendly and was able to answer all of my questions.

Was spending time with family visiting sites in DC and decided to tent camp. This location was easy access to everything I wanted to do. The site was clean quiet very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.
