What Guests Are Saying
Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

No hook ups… bathrooms were usable… the park was very crowded.. some cars were on the road and I could not pull my rig through without contacting the owners to relocate their vehicles

Love camping at Greenbelt Park! Perfect easy get away not far from DC. Here are my tips:
1. Bring your bike!
2. FYI: There are outlets in the bathrooms (and hot showers!!).
3. Bring lemongrass oil or deet bug spray to ward off ticks! They are particularly bad.
4. Leave your hammock at home. You can’t hang things from trees.
Hope this helps! Enjoy!

Our site B68 was at a good location. The sites were not close together so there is room for privacy between sites. The women's bathroom closest to our site was not great. There were 3 stalls and one did not have a door. The sinks looked dirty and although the sign said it would be cleaned daily at 1:30PM, it didn't look it to me. I did venture to the other women's bathroom which had showers and those bathrooms looked much cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing. Overall, it was a good campground except for the one bathroom's condition. We did some hiking in the trails near the campground. Would come again, can't beat the $20/night price!

This place is decent. When you have a group of first time, campers or children. I did not like that. The people drove around all throughout the night. I mean it's safe. They make sure that we're safe, but it was like kind of annoying when your children are trying to sleep and they still have their high beams on making sure that there's no fire or anything. .
This place has a lot of bugs like of every kind I seen so many bugs in the bathroom at our campsite and the grass just everywhere hanging out spiders all types of critters.
This place definitely had a lot of extra wood and trees around to help you grow better fire. I like that they had a clean bathroom and a water pump.
This campground feels like a big community and I like that, but I also love privacy so I probably won't come back unless I invite a big group of children or friends who want to experience camping. You can hear the police cars and the city still. And that's not very peaceful but overall we enjoyed the stay.

Really happy to have a campground so close to the nation’s capitol. Roads to the campground look brand new, but the pavement at the campground itself could use some improvement.

Pros: Close to DC
Cons: Campsite layouts are not well designed (many sites are not level, no place to put a tent (I had to camp on the pavement), some RV sites are on the road, etc), ticks (lot of undergrowth on some sites), cleanliness of bathrooms/showers was ok but not great, not much to see/do at campground. Also, I've never been to a campground with so many aggressive drivers (drove like they were in regular DC).
It is a totally fine campground, but not one that I would go to again unless it was the most convenient option.
